Crockpot blech correction

I misunderstood my father on the this issue. A crockpot can have a blech. However i previously said put 3 pieces of silver foil between the outside heat source and the pot. The correct thing to do is, roll three separate pieces of silver foil into balls. Place them below the pot. The pot will stick up a bit but will still cook no problem. This way you can add hot water.
