crying

Question

Kavod HaRav- Is it Assur to cry on Shabbat, or is it just that it's better not to? If it is assur, is it then permitted to cry on Rosh Hashana (which fell out this year on Shabbat) or Yom Kippur, when it is inevitable one will cry during the tefillot? (-so one is not crying out of sadness, but out of plea to HaKadosh Baruch Hu.) Also, is one permitted to say a personal tefilla on Shabbat? Thank you!

On Shabbat & Yom Tov we are required to be happy. This includes Rosh Hashanah. We should not add personal prayers on these days, either. On Yom Kippur it is OK. AA
