Decaffeinated Coffees, etc.

Question

Out here in Los Angeles, we have been advised, yet again, that decaf coffee (i.e., ground and not Sanka) may not be available because the decaffeination process involves the use of alcohol, rather than water. How are you able to give global hechsher on all decaffeinated coffees? Thanks
