distilled vinegar

Question

according to the fda website SPIRIT VINEGAR, DISTILLED VINEGAR, GRAIN VINEGAR. The product made by the acetous fermentation of dilute distilled alcohol. so i guess it would depend if the alcohol is hametz. even malt vinegar is made by fermenting the barley converting the starch part of it into a sugar (maltose) and then fermenting the sugar using yeast to turn it into alcohol, taking that alcohol and fermenting it with bacteria to make vinegar. it seems to me we are very far removed from the original barley to make the final product hametz? this website has a nice summary of vinegar and uses the same definitions as the fda http://www.versatilevinegar.org/framewhatisvin.html what do you think?

I suspect that there may be more things OK that we have not yet hit on, but we try to take our time & be sure. We have been looking into that. That's what is meant by being extra careful. It's always a help when you send us some good links. Thanks. Distilled Vinegar is almost never wheat. AA
