"When the label includes the word "vinegar" between commas (as in: "...tomato sauce, vinegar, corn starch...") the vinegar is apple cider vinegar (FDA labeling regulations demand it be so). But all other forms of vinegar -- with the exception of "malt vinegar" and the possible exception of some flavored vinegars -- should be quite safe. Even grain-derived "white vinegar" and "distilled vinegar" should have no trace of gluten in the finished product." It's almost certain to be true, but we take it step by step. Thanks AA
