Does Kosher mean certified?
Question
1. Does Kosher mean that a food is Rabbinically certified or does it mean that it does not contain any unkosher ingredients? 2. At what point in history did people start to depend on Kosher certifiaction instead of just deciding on their own, based on the ingredients in the food, if a certain food was kosher? 3. In the US today, do all ingredients, no matter what the amount, need to be included in the ingredients section of the lable? Where could I find a list of such laws? Thanks, Aryea
Answer
Answered by Aaron Abadi1) It depends who uses the term. In reality something is Kosher if we can properly determine that it does not contain any non-kosher ingredients. 2) Within the last 25 years. 3) See our FAQ's section. AA
