Can a doorman press the button in an elevator for you? The case is you come to a building and tell him what floor you are going to and he presses it on his own. You don't actually tell him to do it. Yet the only reason he presses it for you is that he knows you are Shomer Shabbat. This happens in NY all the time. Is it mutar?

Answered by Aaron AbadiWhen there is a real need, it is OK. For example, if you live on a high floor, or some people have a hard time even walking up one or two floors. Aaron Abadi
