Regarding woman wearing pants you said the issue is minhag in certain communities. What is this minhag based on? If it is just past practice couldn't that be considered a minhag shtus?

Answered by Aaron AbadiThe big question would be if the Minhag is based on a Tzniut concept, or as you have said, that it is just a Minhag Shtut. There are other issues. If you live in a community where it is not accepted, you open yourself to real problems with bringing up children. On the other hand, pants usually cover down to the ankles, while a skirt with short socks leaves half the leg (Shok) uncovered. This is a serious problem. However, I would not recommend wearing pants in this closed-minded society. Aaron Abadi
