Flatbush eruv

Question

The Rabbonim who are against the eruv actually asked Harav Wosner to check the status of the Sephardic eruv well before he was approached by other members of the community.Once he determined that it was a mehudar eruv, they refused to meet with him. The principles of our religion are based on logical and reasonable debate of important issues.The Rabbonim who are anti eruv base this on the concern that young couples will get together on Shabbos and a fear of ball playing. Are these rabbonim permitted to ask the shaila of a prominent mumcha on eruv and ignore the answer? How is it possible to claim a "hashkafic" objection to such a huge mitzvah and obligation such as eruv?

As you are well aware, my father does NOT hold of the Eruv. However, in reference to your question, these Rabbonim possibly asked him for his status, not for his P'sak. OR, they were looking for an issur, which answers your second question, which is "Halacha has no place in their decision making process". Is their fear of "young couples will get together on Shabbos and a fear of ball playing" a tznius problem or a Bitul Torah issue(and not play ball)? Either way don't let these Rabbonim get to you, they have an agenda. As I always say, as long as you follow one Rov, you will never go wrong in Hashem's eyes. (By the way, those are the only eyes you should worry about!) CYA
