follow up on sports players on shabbat

What problem is it to work on shabbat - it's not one of the 39 melachot??

The first bunch of Simanim in Mishneh Berura Chelek #3 are about that. Read it through. What about Shofar? Why don't we blow Shofar when Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat? What Melachah is that? AA
