food umbrella

Question

My wife bought these food umbrellas; they are collapsable mesh umbrellas that sit on a table and keep the insects away from your food when you eat outside. When I asked what in the world they are good for, she said Succos. It seems to me that these aren't much different from ordinary umbrellas and you can't open or close them on shabbos or yom tov and they are muktza even if they are left open before. What do you think?
