Goin' fishin'

Question

I want to teach my children to fish. My father always took us fishing with either little fish or Hebrew National baloney (they love it!). Is a Jew allowed to buy shrimp to use as bait?? (Nothing wrong with the baloney, we were just wondering). Thank you!!!
