GUM

Question

I know you've said wrigleys is kosher numerous times. I would like to know if the reason why they have no hashgava is b/c wrigleys chose not to get, or b/c no kashrut agency would certify, or is it all political and the kashrut agencies refuse to give the hashgava because that would put all kosher gums out of business. and please list all other name brands of gum that are kosher. thanks

The gum base softener is made out of an unkosher ingredient. It is muttar to chew gum, (from a kashrus standpoint) because the gum base is not ingested by the body even if it is swallowed. It will not get broken doen by the digetive system. It is the same as chewing a piece of leather. CYA
