Hair covered with a hat

Question

My wife does not wear a shaitel, but does wear a hat or beret whenever she goes out. Is that acceptably qualified as covering her hair? Thanks

Rav Ovadia Yosef from Yerushalayim holds you MUST wear a hat and not a sheitel. As long as your hair is covered, it doesn't make any difference. CYA
