Sukah on the grass

Question

I just got off the phone with my cousin, Rav Yehoshua Kalish, who assures me that there is no problem with sitting on a chair on the grass on shabbos. He referred to a gemara in Beitza, which I have not had a chance, to look at yet, which says that it is not considered a hole, and therefore is not digging. DW
