Hallal

Question

Is there any Hallal food that can be considered kosher because we trust the standards of our Moslem brethern? In general are there any religious symbols designating supervision, that we can look at and know that the item can be considered proper and fit for consumption by observant Jews. Hanker

Meat requires an observant Jew to slaughter. All else can be trusted the same as packaged American food. If made in America, look at the ingredients. If made in an Arab country & sold there, then you need to know the political structure and the reliability of their version of the FDA. AA
