work on shabbat

Question

I was a little surprised by the response below. I thought (possibly mistaken) that if you pay a worker on a contract basis, not hourly, then they can perform the job at their leisure. for another example, if ou drop off clothes at the cleaners on friday morning, and they do the job on shabbat it is not your problem. please advise or explain why the worker can not work in your home on shabbat thanks ds
