Hamets delivery: false alarm

Question

I don't know why I thought it had actual malt-based hamets, but it doesn't. Sorry for the bother. But in theory, if one had a standing monthly order for actual hamets delivered to one's home on Pessah and forgot to cancel it, what should one do when it arrives at one's doorstep?

have in mind not to own it, and just put it in the garbage outside or leave it in the street for a neighbor. AA
