hebrew national

Question

i grew up in the older not so looking for chumrot tradition in nyc and we ate hebrew national. i have been in many small and strange places in my work, and i always conisdered myself lucky to find hebrew national. now, baalei teshuvah tell me that it is not reliable even though the certifying rav belongs to the agudas horabonim. if it is treif i wont eat it, but i get suspicious of new discoveries, espcially by people who unlike me ate treif all their lives. (we can have another disucssion on the neurotic motivations of baalei teshuva) is hebrew national treif? or not thank ou

Let's not pick on a specific group. (We're all nuts!) In any case, we will be looking into Hebrew National when my father comes next to America, and Be'Ezrat Hashem, we'll post our findings then. There is an opinion that when "HN" left the NY area, it began to go downhill. We'll look into that. AA
