Homosexuality

Question

What should a guy do if he is gay, should he get married or not?

Answer

Answered by Aaron Abadi

There has been a lot of opinions lately that were trying to promote understanding of homosexuality in Observant Judaism. Saying things like "what can he do if he was born with different tastes." I know that this is not what you are saying, but it needs to be addressed. The simple answer is that if I were born with an extreme urge to kill people, would that be OK, too? Of course not. Well the same goes for this. Now, you would say to the one that wants to kill people to go for help to a Psychiatrist or other qualified professional to learn how to overcome that urge. The same goes for homosexuality. Sorry, but the Torah does not allow it. The man is not crazy, he just was given a difficult test. He needs to pass that test, if he wants to win the game. And now to your question.... If he can bring himself to live a normal hetrosexual life with a wife and kids, and he got the help he needs to be stable and strong, and capable to stand up to those tests, then he should do it 100%. If not, then first work through the issues. AA
