Hot Plate
Question
Why is a hot plate treated more stingently than a blech in that you can't put food on it on Shabbat?
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiA hot plate that can be used for cooking food and is built in that way is treated as a stove or oven, and would require a "Blech" (piece of sheet metal above it) if you want to put hot food back onto this hot plate. AA
