hot plate timer

Question

Is it permitted (on shabos) to put cold food directly onto a hot plate when is it off, if there is a timer and it will go on a few minutes?

No problem. You can even set your oven on a timer and while it is cold and off, you can put raw food in to cook later when the oven goes on. AA
