Inviting to a brit mila

Question

I learned that one should NOT invite people to a brit mila meal bacause if that person does not show up -- let's just say it does not bode well in shamayim for him/her. Does that mean that phrases such as " refreshments ( or lunch ) will be served " should NOT be mentioned ? Are you ONLY allowed to inform people that " the brit will take place on such a date at this address " ? Thank you !

Technically the same applies to any and all Seudot Mitzvah (parties for a Mitzvah). That would include weddings and so on. You can cause a big stir if you invite people outright. Tell people, "The Brit will be Shabbat morning at this time and at that Shul, I hope you can make it." Mazal Tov! Find a good Mohel! AA
