Hunting

Question

I am under the impression that hunting is permitted for any halachically legitimate reason, not necessarilyfor food. For instance, if one wanted to make klaf from the deer skin or if one needed the animal for refuah. Hunting for "sport" is not a Jewish tradition, but there seems to be no reason why one could not enjoy hunting for tachlis. Unk
