i don't get it

Question

I really don't get it. If Rabbis and other "religious" people spread propraganda on kashrut issues, make questionable halachic decisions, why would one be obligated to follow their rulings on tzniut issues? I always thought- possibly incorrectly- that tzniut is governed by halacha. -Like the covering of a womans hair- there are halachic criteria. So if pants is halachically o.k. except that people won't except it why must I be concerned with their ignorant beliefs? -thank you for your time and honesty

Tzniut is not governed by the Rabbis, but rather by the actions of the people in the community. Covering a woman's head is a requirement in the Torah. The extent of where and how much to cover, being stricter than the minimum of the Torah is based on the local Minhag. Aaron Abadi
