Question
I agree with what you wrote, but jeans on Shabbat? Isn't that disrespectful for the day? We are supposed to dress up for Shabbat aren't we? Isn't that what the halakhah says,and isn't that what helps make Shabbat special? Was this just a slip of the pen on our part?

Can we honestly tell Joe Weinstein that he cannot wear a nice clean pair of blue jeans on Shabbat, maybe dressed up with a classy sports jacket?! The people that wear black on Shabbat are going against those that require white clothing. What about a corporate suit guy? Can he wear the same suit he wore last Monday for Shabbat? It's a Giorgio Armani that he bought in Sak's. It isn't carved in stone. For each his own. AA
