Question
The media and Jewish community goes wild when they hear that a Jewish proffesional sports figure refuses to play on the Shabat or Holiday (as by Sandy Kofax). I was wondering, is there truly any requirement for this? After all, what melacha are they possibly avoiding by their not playing.
