LABRIUTE MEALS

Question

Recently, a new invention has hit the kosher market. It is a prepackaged meal (Dairy & Meat are available) which can be heated by just pouring the enclosed salt water on top of an enclosed chemical, and that causes a chemical reaction giving off heat thereby heating up the dinner. This "miracle" has changed my food situation while I'm traveling. My question is, is this procedure permitted to be done on Shabbos? Is this cooking? Thanking you in advance!!

Yes it is approved for Shabbos. The manufacturer came to my father's house in Lakewood and showed him how it works. He said it is like heating directly with the sun which is Mutttar on Shabbos. If you want further explanation, please contact us after Shabbos. I answered now in case it was relevant for Shabbos B'teyavon Good Shabbos CYA
