Ma'raas Ayin

Dear Rabbi, You mentioned that only cases in the gemara are considered mara'as ayin. However, if you look in siman 87, saeef 3, the rama paskins a certain case as being ma'raas ayin, yet it isn't in the gemara. What's going on here?
