Mail and Shabbat

Question

You said that it is OK to open mail on Shabbat (if it has no muktzeh). But what about the fact that you are wripping the envelope?

you are ripping the envelope in order to get what is inside. this is similar to opening a bottle of soda, a can of tuna, or a bag of paper cups, which are all permitted. AA
