Question

why is it preferable to use romain lettuce for maror when it is not "bitter" whatsoever? thank you ao

There is no requirement to have a very "sharp" vegetable for Maror. Sharp in Hebrew is not "Maror," but rather "Charif." Lettuce is not naturally a sweet vegetable. Carrots are sweet. Lettuce is Maror. AA
