Meat on the 9 Days

Question

What is the prohibition against eating meat on the 9 days? Also, what if there is little else available?

That is what is brought down in Shulchan Aruch. Some were even machmir from Shiva Asar B'tamuz. The reason is to pain ourselves a bit, for the Beit Hamikdash. There is always cereal and milk. CYA
