Mezuzah

Question

I have a mezuzah that my cousins sent me from Israel with the klaf inside. The mezuzah has been sitting in a cardboard box in my closet for 6 years. I am now moving and I want to have it on my doorway. Is it still okay to hang it up at this point?

If it was kosher then, it is still kosher now. CYA
