Missionaries in schools

Question

Earlier, someone under the name "Not making this up" posted a message that described some missionary activities. Are there missionaries out there? Certainly. Do those stories sound extremely fishy? Yep. Sounds absolutely plausable to me. She was baptizing > the deceased. COMMENT: Ummm . . . Only Mormons believe in posthumous conversion. No kids were ever asked by their parents about their math homework? And what is Advent anyway but the preperatory weeks before Christmas? > The science teacher was teaching evolution to "prove the that Torah > was not true". COMMENT: Yup. A religious christian trying to show that the Bible is false . . So what is Christianity based on? Last time I checked, mainstream Christianity has the same problem with evolution that Orthodox Judaism does. The Chabad school hired a teacher who had the fourth graders reading > CS Lewis (he was a Christian minister who wrote "faith building books"). > COMMENT: Yes, CS Lewis was a Christian minister. He was also a Cambridge professor. He wrote faith building books. He also wrote children's fantasy books that certainly have Christian elements but are only visible to those who know what they're reading. When I read The Chronicles of Narnia in elementary school, I didn't spot any of it. When I re-read it in college, I saw it. But these are all also really great stories that might get otherwise uninterested kids into reading. >If you look for it, you will see it EVERYWHERE, ?>tragically. They are > very sophisticated, very organized, very educated and very very well > funded. COMMENT: Ummm . . . The paranoia here is kinda weird . . . Sophisticated? Most of these examples talk about individuals who happen to spread their own "good news" to those around them. Organized? Do you REALLY think ANY of the cases listed knew ANYTHING about each other? Yes, there is some organized missionary work out there, but these examples sound like individual cases of Christians attempting to prozyletize. Nothing organized about that. Educated? Have you ever actually talked to a run-of-the-mill Christian missionary (the type you're likely to run into on the subway, passing out j4j pamphlets or working as your maid or babysitter)? They are quite possibly less knowledgable even than the typical Discovery seminar instructor.
