Mistake in verse with God's name

Question

If the Torah Reader makes a mistake in a verse that contains God's name, conventional wisdom says the verse should be finished, then repeated correctly. According to Halakha, what is the proper procedure?

Finish the sentence, even if the verse is longer, and then repeat it correctly. AA
