I think what one must take into consideration is what most Rishonim/Poskim say. If you have a majority, why follow the minority. The majority quote the Zohar consistantly, especially modern day Poskim such as the Chofetz Chaim, Igros Moshe, etc. If Rabbi Abadi and Rav Shlomo Zalman say that one is considered an apikores, I think that says it all. What our contemporary Poskim say is Torah MiSinai. Yiftach Bdoro KeShmuel Bdoro. Even if they say right is left and left is right etc.
