"It is possible that today it is not as strict..." Could you elaborate on the idea of not having meat and fish together? What is permissible? What isn't? Is using Worcestershire Sauce (which contains anchovies) in a dish containing meat OK? Thank you!

Answered by Aaron AbadiIt was considered dangerous to eat meat with fish. Today, it does not seem to be dangerous. Some Rabbis have determined that the Halachah would thus not apply today. My father's position on this has been that we can be very lax with it. We don't need to wash the fork between fish and meat, nor do we need to dring an alcoholic beverage in between. But he has not yet been ready to allow straight fish and meat eaten together. Like a sandwich with corned beef and tuna (sounds delicious?!). I don't know about Worcestershire Sauce. I'll try to get one from the store and see what it is like. AA
