more re. purpose of site

Also, while I do have a rav, I have chosen to ignore what he says re. Pesah food and general kashrut issues since what he says often contradicts the Shulhan Arukh. WhenI pointed this out to him he said, "technically you are correct, but that is not what the olam does." He still is my rav and I will ask him all sorts of questions, but when it comes to kashrut, I know that he follows the party line, not the halakhah, so I no longer ask him. Am I wrong here?
