niddah/labor

Question

Kvod HaRav, When does a woman become a niddah during labor?

Answer

Answered by Aaron Abadi

When she can't walk anymore or when she sees her first blood. This does not apply to a Cesarean birth (c-section). In this case, the woman becomes a Niddah, when she sees blood as any normal day of the year. The blood from the surgery, even though it technically comes from the same place, does not make her a Niddah. AA
