Non-Jews and Shabbat

Question

According to the Shulhan Arukh you can have a non-Jew play an instrument for you on Shabbat. You can also have a wedding on Shabbat. Why don't we do these things anymore?

It's probably because it became simpler to just do it after Shabbat. If you tried it now, they'll consider you an "Oisvorf." (Outcast) AA
