Rabbi: What do you mean it is rendered inedible? Are you refering to Non Fat Dry Milk (powdered)? Is it rendered inedible in every product? Sorry I am a little confused. I thought as long as it is edible or inedible it retains that status as an ingredient in the product. Thanks, Yitz

Answered by Aaron AbadiThe product "Viactive" is not edible according to Halachah. It's just made edible enough to get it down. It's the same with all vitamins and medicines. The fact that there are items in the ingredients that prior to being mixed in were edible does not change this. Non-Fat milk alone or in an edible product is, of course, edible. AA
