Obligation

Question

If I make a deal with let's say Mr. Ezra, for example, that should x prove to be true, he is then obliged to do Y, is Mr. Ezra obliged to inform me that he has found out that x is indeed true? Or can he wait until I discover this myself? Thanks, Yaakova
