Shabbat and Non Jewish Workers

Question

I work in a jewish company. Is it required for them to give off their employees on friday afternoon when shabbat starts at 4 pm? if a salesman wants to work friday nite, or on yom tov, are they permitted to do so? is there any issur for the jewish owner , that they are benefitting from the non jewish employees work on shabbat? thanks always!
