Pet Food and Kitniyot

Question

1. Can my Sephardic housekeeper make us (and only us, not for herself) food with kitniyot in it? 2. Since when does dog food have to have kosher meat? I thought that whenever an animal was shechted wrong, they would feed it to the animals. Please clarify.

1) No 2) You get benefit by feeding your animal non-Kosher. AA
