Plates
Question
You have mentioned that glazed china plates do not absorb. But what halakhic significance does this have, since after all, plates are a keli sheni and whether they are glazed or not we say that they don't absorb.
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiGood point. But that is that you don't Kasher it, but what if I make it a Keli Rishon once in a while, by putting it in the microwave for twenty minutes to cook meat, now if I want to use it for cooking cheese, I must wait the 24hours, unless you tell me, hey, it's glazed & is not Boleyah (absorb) and therefore just clean it & cook your cheese.
