Ladies and Gentlemen! It pains me to say this. It seems like we have all lost our minds. I remember 20 years ago when real bugs that you can actually see were found in vegetables. Till this day, many people still ignore them. The conventional Kashrut Organizations only started thinking about it recently. Yet some rumor starts now, and "bang zoom" we all go nuts?! Everyone who can still maintain their sanity, should grab their families and run. Go build a hut in the woods. Hide! It can only get worse from here. The Indian Hair issue is not true. They think it is a sacrifice to an idol. The reality is that the sacrifice is a "self-sacrifice" by removing one's hair, which is considered the most beautiful part of a person. They go and remove this as a sacrifice to their god. This sacrifice is not that they offer the hair as a respectful gift, but rather the sacrifice is the REMOVAL of the hair. In addition to this, they leave the hair, usually on the floor, and the Temple takes the hair and sells it. This is a donation to the Temple. This is not an offering to the God. The only thing that would carry it's prohibition even after it is sold, is an actual sacrifice. An animal slaughtered and put before the idol. Additionally, even if the hair was an offering in itself, it is not that simple that it should be a problem. The general rule is that the offering must resemble offerings that our ancestors would bring in our Temple. Human hair does not seem to fit that bill. However their are many differences of opinion in that regard. Now top that off with the fact that quality human hair does not come from India. The prices paid today are clearly for a different quality. The Indian hair mostly goes to African and Hispanic woman who pay about $100 for a full wig. ___________________________ Bugs in the Water: Show me! The bugs are not seen by the naked eye and are not a problem. I think if these people were working or doing something constructive they would not be creating these stories.
