Purpose of site
Question
I have become confused about the purpose of this site. Originally I thought it was a forum to ask questions of one of our generation's great poskim, which is why I found it so useful. But I have also seen you stress that we all need to find a rav. Yet if we all had a rav to whom we would ask questions and there would be no need for this site. After all, the people who are writing in are not students of Rav Abadi and I don't think anyone can claim to be a student of Rav Abadi because they ask him a few questions. So I ask, even if we all have local rabbis whom we can ask halakhic questions, isn't there also something to be said for asking Rav Abadi questions? After all, if someone had a problem and went to ask R. Moshe Feinstein, while they accepted his pesak in this case, this doesn't mean that they stopped going to baseball games. Also, when I ask Rav Abadi a question I know that I will get the halakhah as it appears in the Shulhan Arukh, which is not always the case with other rabbis (expecially with regard to Pesah and kashrut issues). I am curious then, what do you regard as the proper use of this site?
