Putting on a Talis

Question

What is the correct way to put on a talis? I see many people gather up the whole tallis and wrap it around to the left, after making the brocho and covering the head. I saw somewhere where the Gra held that you only need to cover the head but not wrap it around. What method do you suggest for this ?
