Rabbi: With all due respect, you seem to have it in reverse. The Jews will mot be brought to Israel by the Mashiach, only once all the Jews return will Mashiach come. Not only that, can I make an argument that the real world is not the United States - TV, fast food, convenience stores, etc. Most of the world including Israel does not function like the people do in the United States. We here in the US are in Disney World, the rest of the world is in reality. True, Israel is a secular government, but we are living in the era of Mashiach ben Yosef, not Masiach ben David, and so we are in the midst of the physical geulah, which requires a secular government. Also, how can we expect the anti-religious to change if more and more Jews do not do kiruv by going there and bringing back the wayward Jews to Judaism not only teaching them the laws of Kashrut but changing Secular Zionism to religious Zionism, which is the only Zionism that in the long run will last. I have heard these arguments before and they are propagated by people who do have the fear that should they move there they will be destitute, etc. Take a walk in any Super Sol. You have never seen so much food. Not only that, in this global economy, you can live in the Amazon Rain Forest and as long as you have a modem and laptop, can basically conduct business anywhere in the world and still make a living. You want to know why mashiach hasn't come? Because as much as Israel is a secular country, we are committing the same sins as the Meraglim who spoke Lashon Harah about Eretz Yisrael, and as a result we are delaying our own entry into our Promised Land by scaring others from going or at least trying to make Aliyah even if they fail.
