Re: Meat and Fish

Question

But you see, you yourself said there are still good reasons to do it, but not the ones chazal had originally intended. And not the way people do it nowadays by dipping their pinkies in a drop of water. But if chazal enacted something for a specific reason and that reason no longer exists, then the takanah should exist no longer as well. If there are other reasons to do something, fine. But from a standpoint of not being obligated, you should not be obligated. Meat and fish were clearly enacted as a health issue and that issue is clearly wrong based upon our medical knowledge. Even though their medical knowledge told them otherwise. Should we still practice some of the other medicine quoted in the Gemara? I don't think you would do it if you were ill. I still do not understand why you maintain that it is still prohibited and on what grounds you alllow not washing or drinking in between, but not eating them together. Thanks and Good Yom Tov

That is the metzius, meat and fish are not dangerous anymore so washing is not necessary but to eat it together we dont allow! This is what my father just told me. CYA
